Two food-truck memories, the dishes on today’s menu, and a few details to help you choose your order.
Start with the truffle fries
The Truffle Fries sit in the starters section of the bistro menu: hand-cut fries with parmesan, white truffle oil and green onions. They are their own starter, with a different finish from the fresh-cut fries that come with the California BLT. That sandwich pairs bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado with a choice of honey wheat or white kaiser.
Gimme Adventures singled out the truffle fries in a review dated February 14, 2024, after a visit to Oscar’s food truck. That memory belongs to the truck days. Today, you can find Truffle Fries on the bistro menu in the starters section.
Choose your Baja taco option
Famous Baja Tacos come three to an order, with a choice of beer-battered flounder, grilled shrimp or beer-battered fried avocado. The menu lists corn or flour tortillas, garlic aioli, red cabbage, pickled onions and fresh jalapeño. Choosing the filling and tortilla is part of ordering this dish; read both before you decide.
Jennifer Ellis’s food-truck review, dated March 7, 2024, specifically mentions a Baja shrimp taco. The current menu’s shrimp option is grilled, while the flounder and avocado choices are beer-battered. The photograph above shows fish tacos; Jennifer’s note concerns shrimp.
A guest’s visit has a date
You can read both memories in the Google reviews displayed on the historical food-truck listing at ChamberofCommerce.com. The dates help place those visits in Oscar’s story, before the restaurant on Old River Road.
For a visit now, Oscar’s is at 107 Old River Rd, Suite I, in Montgomery. The full bistro menu is the place to compare current dishes. If an ingredient raises a dietary question, call the team before ordering and ask about the specific dish and preparation you need.
Put together your order
Browse the starters first, then choose the taco option that suits you. If you are comparing a taco order with a seafood entree, Pecan Crusted Flounder comes with jasmine rice, roasted carrots and asparagus, and creole meunière sauce. It is a separate dish from the beer-battered flounder tacos.
If you are collecting food to take home, use the existing Order Online link on the menu to view the ordering system’s current options. For a group meal at another venue, start a catering inquiry so the team can discuss a menu for that gathering.
More guest feedback is collected in Oscar’s Guest Book.
